Our very own Matt and Jessica Flannery have flown to Uganda today to meet the Frontline World crew in Kampala. They'll be visting Kiva's partners Life in Africa and WITEP to learn about how our partners manage the loans on the ground, and also meeting some borrowers and new loan applicants to capture their experiences. We're really excited to see the footage of these people we communicate with every week via email and Skype but haven't actually met in person yet, and of course to see footage of some of the borrowers.

Kiva's President Premal Shah today spoke at the Clinton Global Initiative as a panel member for the working session "Poverty Alleviation: Knowledge is Power: Using Technology to Get Ahead". This working session was webcast live by the Clinton Global Initiative, and Kiva.org is extremely grateful for the exposure we have received through this invitation.

Perhaps the highlight of the conference was Premal's introduction to Bill Clinton, who said he had read all about Kiva.org and loves the work we are doing. We had never thought to include "Bill Clinton knowing...

That's right - Frontline World, of the national TV station PBS, will be filming a story on Kiva.org over the next 2 weeks to be aired in late October. The piece will cover the Kiva.org story from our day to day operations in the San Francisco office right through to the activities of our borrowers - some of whom Frontline World will be filming on location in Uganda. So come along and bring your friends - we love any opportunity to meet all the Kivans out there, and of course we want to tell your friends why they should be a Kiva lender too!
