The London-based Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation (CSFI) has published the 2009 Microfinance Banana Skins report.

According to the Center for Financial Inclusion Blog:
"This year’s report reflects the fundamental shift in the sector risk landscape, as perceived by participants, since the 2008 report. The global economic and financial crisis of the past year has brought to the forefront risks of credit quality, liquidity and funding that are commanding the attention of investors."Check out the report here.

Cissy DeLuca was an intern at the Kiva office in San Francisco for 5 months before beginning her Kiva Felllowship with TLM in Indonesia.

During her time in the Kiva office she caught some candid moments in the Kiva office on her video camera, and has put together this fairly hilarious video of some of the staff and volunteers at Kiva:

Last week Reuters reported that the EU is working to create a micro-finance facility for the unemployed:

Kiva has just wrapped its press tour to announce the US pilot! We've had an incredible few days which included interviews on Good Morning America, ABC World News with Charles Gibson, the BBC, Marketplace, ABC Radio, and many many more!!!!

We've been incredibly excited to see the response on the website - we've had thousands of new lenders register and an exciting increase in loans funded.
