2007 has marked the year of many new and beautiful relationships for Kiva. One relationship in particular that is very near and dear to my heart out here in Philadelphia has been with the folks at Halloran Philanthropies. The newly formed foundation has not only supported Kiva's organizational growth, but has gone full-force in supporting a number of institutions in the microfinance space, globally.

The cast of The Young and the Restless will be performing "The Trial of the Catonsville 9" at The Palm Canyon Theatre in Palm Springs, CA on January 19, 2008, and all proceeds will be donated to Kiva.org!

The event is being organized by renowned actress Judith Chapman, who will also be performing in the production. Other cast members include daytime stars Christian LeBlanc, Michelle Stafford, Kristoff St. John and more!

Kiva.org recently celebrated its second celebrity fundraiser last weekend at a sweet little soiree hosted at Entourage star Adrian Grenier's house. Kevin Connolly (Entourage) and Willie Garson (Sex and the City) were also present, along with some of the Kiva.org team and a crowd of fun people.

The event was inspired by Grenier's book club that recently finished reading "The End of Poverty." Motivated to make a difference, they decided to throw a "Fund Rager" and raise money for Kiva.org.

Agents of Change are a Canadian non-profit group currently riding their way from Vancouver to Tijuana to raise money for Mexican entrepreneurs through Kiva.org.

The 25 riders (and their support crew) will be arriving in San Francisco on Friday May 25th, where they''ll be joining the San Francisco Critical Mass ride to celebrate their arrival. If you you haven't already heard of them, Agents of Change are a Canadian non-profit cycling 2,000 miles from Vancouver, Canada to Tijuana, Mexico to raise money for Mexican entrepreneurs on Kiva.org. Currently there are 25 riders participating in the complete ride, with a support group of dozens.

Agents of Change will be holding events as they pass through Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. To get more info or donate to Agents of Change, visit their website at www.agentsofchange.ca.

Kiva.org has arrived in Hollywood!

Maroon 5 hosted a Casino Night fundraiser for Kiva.org in Hollywood over the weekend.

The event was organized by screenwriter Gene Hong and hosted Maroon 5 and the former head of ABC, Jamie Terses. Actors Ryan Reynolds and Jeremey Sisto also came to share the Kiva love at the Casino Night fundraiser.

Kiva.org has been awarded a $300k grant from the Draper Richards Foundation! These funds will be used to help us cover operating expenses necessary for the unbelievable growth we've been experiencing.

The Draper Richards Foundation was founded in 2002 by William H. Draper, III and Robin Richards Donohoe, venture capitalists who believe in the power of innovation and passionate individuals to change the world.
