One of the best parts of my job is talking with lenders – it’s a chance to understand what works well and where improvements are needed. A few weeks ago Kiva participated in a UX Boot Camp with Cooper, a design strategy firm based in San Francisco. This was an opportunity to gather a group of talented technology professionals together and have them put a fresh set of eyes on one of the challenges Kiva has observed over the past year.

Young people everywhere are taking action to celebrate the Month of Microfinance this April, but one group of students and teachers from Overlake School in Seattle actually made the trek to spend the week with us at Kiva Headquarters in San Francisco. These impressive young students took part in a ‘Design Thinking’ exercise to help develop some of Kiva’s future projects and initiatives.
