Brought together in July 2009 by a shared desire to fund loans that are in danger of expiring, the Late Loaning Lenders (LLL) team has grown into one of the most supportive and impactful communities on Kiva.

A little background: Kiva loan requests are posted for a maximum of 30 days. If they're not funded within that timeframe, the loan expires and the Field Partner does not receive the funds for that particular loan. Last night, we hosted an open house for Kiva Zip borrowers, trustees and lenders. It was incredible to watch powerful online connections transform into an equally strong offline community. United in our passion for microfinance and entrepreneurship, it's remarkable how quickly we bonded and discovered even more common ground.
